Hiltron has completed projects on behalf of Norwegian national broadcaster NRK and telecommunications service provider Telenor. Both contracts were a continuation of our very successful co-operation with Danmon Norge. The NRK project was for a receive-only station consisting of three 2.4 metre Ku band antennas, dual output low-noise block downconverters, l-band cabling, 12 l-band fibre optic links, a 16 x 16 l-band receiver matrix and a Narda NRA-2500 remote spectrum-analyser).
The Telenor contract was for a major upgrade of the communications system at the Troll research located at Jutulsessen, 235 kilometres inland from the coast of Antarctica. Owned by the Norwegian government, the station is located 1,270 metres above sea level and completely surrounded by the Antarctic ice sheet. We provided RF conversion equipment and high power amplifiers. Commissioning was successfully finalised in December.
